San Giovanni in Marignano – A “green” for the cross
October, 19. In the athletic world the season of the cross is at the departure tapes. The mythical world of mud and cold has a date in San Giorgio su Legnano for the European championships of the country cross, on Sunday, December 10.
The cross country is considered from the runners in the world the mother of all running specialties and belongs to the tradition of the Master world championships, that in this discipline award a title both for individual and for teams.
The location of this always fascinating race is the Golf Club of S.Giovanni in Marignano, which in the opening day of the iridescent event, on Tuesday 4th September, will put away the clubs and the balls to offer its own suggestive setting for the long-distance runners of all ages and of all parts of the world.
The organisation of this “championship inside the championship” has been the object of a meeting in the last days among Lamberto Vacchi, Franco Franchi and Gianfranco Traina for the organisation committee and Antonio Dappozzo e Roberto Pompei for the Riviera Golf Club.
